Greg Cupitt-Jones

Gregory Cupitt-Jones is an award-winning Master Upholsterer with extensive experience across both traditional and conservation upholstery.
Originally trained as a cabinet maker, he later specialised in upholstery, studying Furniture Design under David James. He has since been awarded the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers Challeng cup in Traditional Upholstery three times.
Greg became a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Upholders in 2007 and received their Master Certificate Award in 2019 in recognition for his work and contribution to the trade.
He has run his own business, Cottage Upholstery, in Oxfordshire for nearly 30 years, alongside an extensive teaching career. His roles have included Buckinghamshire New University, Rycotewood Furniture Centre and co-owning the British School of Upholstered Furniture.
His work includes commissions for the Royal Collection, historic palaces, The Wallace Collection, National Trust properties and he currently works as an upholsterer to the Palace of Westminster.
Greg currently teaches the AMUSF diploma at his training facility “The Chair School” in Buckinghamshire.
