This two-day course, led by Oliver Piepereit, focuses on surface finishing techniques for upholstered furniture.
Oliver will guide the group through a range of finishing approaches, tailoring techniques to suit each individual piece.
The varied nature of the work allows participants to benefit from observing a wide selection of furniture styles, these can be from Victorian through to mid-century modern and understanding how finishing methods differ accordingly.
Participants will
Assess existing finishes and surface condition
Prepare surfaces for finishing
Explore a range of finishing techniques and materials
Apply appropriate methods to their own piece
Gain insight from working alongside a variety of furniture styles
Materials and finish
Participants are to bring their own chair to work on.
A chair can be supplied on request for those unable to bring one (Notice is required)

Ollie Piepereit
Ollie Piepereit is a master craftsman specialising in furniture finishing and restoration. With expertise in French polishing and contemporary refinishing, he focuses on reviving and enhancing wooden surfaces using both traditional techniques and modern approaches.
